Welcome…to SCIENCE!
Despite what your child may think, She or He was born with an innate curiosity about the world around them. You may remember a time when they put things in their mouths, touched everything in and around your house or asked you a million questions that began with “why?” Many times this natural inquisitiveness wears off—but, it’s my job as a science teacher to reintroduce them to it!
Students will be required to attend class with the proper materials to succeed.
The following are must haves for my class:
1. A notebook or binder with PLENTY of paper
2. Some kind of writing utensil for note taking
3. Pencils and Erasers for math work
4. Folder for loose papers
The following are items that would be beneficial to have for my class:
1. Colored Pencils
2. Glue stick
3. Scissors
Students are also asked to come to class with an open mind and a willingness to learn. I expect students to participate during the class as class discussions are frequent and often help enrich and enhance your child’s learning environment. Quizzes occur frequently and is just one of the tools I will be using to assess your student’s growth.
To maintain a thriving classroom environment, it is important that your child understands the rules and regulations of the class. Set up and clean up of labs require a lot of work and I need full cooperation of the class. Please take a moment to review class rules with your child—this would help me tremendously. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].
